One of the first concepts we had for our set design was quite complex. Perhaps we would have a colorful, multi-seasonal tree as our centerpiece. It would demonstrate summer, fall, winter, and spring. Perhaps we would have snow and fall leaves and spring grass scattered upon the ground. With pink pansies sprouting from beneath. Or maybe we would include a bright summer sun with snowflakes sprinkling down from the cloudy skies. As you can see, this would have originally been an extremely busy stage. There would be a lot of contradictions floating about our design. But instead, we decided to simplify our set design so that the few props we used would stand out indefinitely to convey our message about the obvious boundaries that plague our lives.
